The first memory I have of drawing is from when I was little when I used wax crayons to make a beautiful artwork of colourful scribbles on the inside roof of our car! Creating art has always been a part of my life whether it is in the form of a colouring book or a school art project. I use drawing to enter a creative state of mind to get in touch with my imagination and as an outlet to express my emotions and curiosities. In all of these artworks there is variety. Whether it be the difference in medium, subject matter or composition every one of these artworks are unique in some way. This portfolio aims to evoke creativity through experimentation and thinking outside of the box. I want to show that with the same medium you can create drastically different artworks or you could choose a whole entire medium. Most of these artworks relate to each other through the same colour scheme (black and white), but there are still subtle and harsh contrasts between the digital drawing compared to the traditional drawing. I hope viewers will walk away with a new perspective about what art entails and that my portfolio will evoke their sense of curiosity and wonder. These artworks show how I slowly grew throughout the year and how I expanded my horizons by mastering techniques or learning new methods of creative expression.
